Let's talk about LOVE: Part 1

Welcome to the week of Valentines, where I want to spend some time talking about that four letter word: LOVE. I am a fan of this time of year when love is in the air and everyone seems just a little kinder. As a single lady, I still enjoy finding ways to celebrate the holiday. I have two built in little dates when this time of year comes around.

Today I made this digital print.

This scripture serves as a reminder in almost every aspect of my life. As a mother, sister, daughter, friend, volunteer, etc.

Today I want to talk about my mother. It is her birthday. She is a wonderful example of strength, kindness and determination. There are not enough words in the dictionary for me to begin to thank her for all that she has done. Today I will share a little story from my childhood and reminds me of when I really realized that this woman loves me. It was a simple act that I never ever forget. When my mother would fix me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, she always added a heart in the peanut butter before closing the sandwich. I loved this personal touch. I refused to accept a sandwich from her without this little touch. This little jester meant so much to me then and even now. I love my mother with every fiber of my being and am so glad she loved me enough to allow me to be who i was even though it was wildly different from what she would have chosen for me.

That's so sweet to think of your mum putting a heart in your sandwich! x
