Celebrating my dad

On Monday my father celebrated his 50th birthday. We travelled down to Georgia this past weekend and threw him a surprise party. You could see the joy in his face as he ate, danced and enjoyed the company of family and friends. Here he is with my sister, brother and I. It was a wonderful evening.

I am one young lady who thinks I have the best daddy in the world ( I am sure I am not the only one). During my speech I mentioned how terrific it is too grow up and know that at least one person thinks you are "good enough" as is. It was a powerful feeling as a young lady navigating middle and high school. When people were mean and said things that were not true, I never dwelled on them too long because my father told me that I was was great and I believed him.

The next evening my sister and I planned a craft night. We gathered some wine, cheese, crackers, paints and canvas. We printed a picture that we thought would be fun for us to all try and create and went to work. It was fun being creative with family.

This was such a fun activity. I think this will go in my back pocket to use as a girls night or something.
